The Botanical Expo is a garden event, our sellers stalls are all about gardening –  indoor or out, food production, design or floral art, we have a dedicated following who enjoy the Rare Plant Fair. Included are three shows, floral art, the NZ Alpine Garden Society Show and Daffodil Show.  The event is run by the NZ Alpine Garden Society (who have been running an event for years), formally in Christchurch, and also the Canterbury Floral Art group and the SI National Daffodil Society. This year we are pleased to also have the huge support of the Canterbury Horticultural Society who  have arranged a great roundup of workshops for Sunday.

A true mechanical swap meet catering for vintage, veteran and classic cars, motorcycles, parts, tools, and mechanical-related stuff.

Looking to sell – just turn up on the day 7am, pay cash $20 site fee at the gate (includes entry for one person) and park as directed. No need to pre-book a site. If you want to park in the Hororata Domain the night before there is a $10 per vehicle overnight parking fee.

Looking to buy – arrive from 7.30am pay cash at the gate $5 per person, kids under 12 years free.

Food and coffee will be available – make sure you try a legendary Hororata Pie!

Cash-only event, we do not have EFTPOS.

The Hororata Mechanical Swap Meet has a NO BRIC-A-BRAC and HOUSEHOLD JUNK policy. If you bring china and soft toys to this event you will be told to go home.

All profits will be invested back into our community.

Live in Lincoln presents Country and Blues night featuring Jody Direen and her band, Midge Marsden, Chet O’Connell Band and Wildflowers. What a night! Join us as we showcase 4 bands over one night with full bar facilities.

When: Sunday 1st October 2023 | 11am – 4pm

Where: Broadfield Garden | 250 Selwyn Road, Rolleston

Come and enjoy a Country Fete at the spectacular 6 star award winning Broadfield Garden. With a garden which is divided into rooms, each telling a different story what better way to spend a Sunday by walking around the fantastic 3 hectares of planting.

As well as the garden to walk around there will be over 50 stallholders to showcase their marvelous products. This is an opportunity to talk directly to the people who make the products and take home that unique gift.

If you are hungry there will be food and wine on offer, a number of guest speakers will be offering workshops during the day, organised tours of the garden during the day, a silent auction, raffles and entertainment for those times you want to sit and rest.

Bring a rug, buy food from our vendors or pack a lunch and stay the day, and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Spring Fling which is organised by a group of dedicated volunteers with the aim to raise funds for the Lincoln & Districts Community Care Assn that supports many people throughout the Selwyn district.

Grab your whole Clan and join our community as we celebrate Scottish culture at the Hororata Highland Games.

The Hororata Highland Games attract 10,000 people annually and sees 500 competitors in Scottish events including; caber tossing, highland dancing and pipe band competitions. All surrounded by a rich tapestry of culture and tastings. This is a festival where your entire family can get off the bleachers and have a go!
